Conor Gallagher is not expecting any answers on his long-term future until after England have played four matches in the Nations League this month.

The 22-year-old only enhanced his reputation during a season-long loan at Crystal Palace which saw him win senior international recognition.

Gallagher is under contract at Chelsea and it is unclear whether the west Londoners view him as being ready to impact Thomas Tuchel’s first-team plans.

The former Charlton Athletic loanee is due to feature for Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions this month.

They start with a match in Hungary tomorrow before heading to Munich to take on Germany.

After that is a rematch of the European Championship final against Italy on June 11 and three days later a return with Hungary. Both those matches will be staged at Molineux.

Palace would jump at the chance of having Gallagher, who won their Player of the Season award, on their books again for the 2022-23 campaign. But Chelsea need to make a call whether their academy product will be available.

“The long season at Palace has only just finished really and then I have come here with England – I have not really had time to think about it [his future],” said Gallagher.

“That’s all I am thinking about, the next four games here. I want to do well.”

Gallagher posted a message to Palace fans on his social media earlier this week.

He said: “It’s been so special to play for this great club. Hopefully I showed that in my performances on the pitch and how proud I was to wear the shirt.

“The players and staff have made me feel like I’ve been here for years and the fans have made me feel so at home.

“From my first contact with Patrick [Vieira] he’s been brilliant with me and helped me develop into a better player, for which I can’t thank him enough.”
