What is a pulpit?
It is a sacred place in front of the church and ordained to be used in sacredness only. Meaning, one is not supposed to utter anything contrary to the Bible while on the pulpit.
The arch Bishop of Anglican churches stormed the airwaves yesterday on 12th of September while at the Butete ceremony of ordaining Bishop Rose Okeno.
Among the present politicians were;
- Former Prime Minister party leader to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
- Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi.
- Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula.
- Kitui Governor Kaloke Ngilu.
There were members to these parties like the talker honourable Malala and his team as well as United Democratic Alliance (UDA) team.
This concluded that the environment was not going to be safe for the ordination service. Arch Bishop Jackson Ole Sapit banned the politicians from talking immediately he saw their gathering to the ground.
The arch Bishop said that, a podium is not a place to politicize politics but is a place where the hopeless should be encouraged as well the church members to be united in one faith and not left divided.
He continued his speech today by telling the top church leaders not to visit the politicians homes in bid for help.
Will the action lead to politicians refusal in building and attending harambee in Churches?
Was it a good idea to be copied and pasted by other churches?
