The court of Kenya have stopped the implementation of new fuel prices after two Kenyans went to oppose the increment which the Government added to the prices. Petrol was to be sold at 135kshs, kerosene 110kshs and diesel 119kshs. Marsabit and Moyale counties were to get the petrol at 147kshs.
This is due to the high debt that the country owes. In every 3kshs VAT collected, 2kshs goes to the payment of debt and 1kshs is used in development in the country.
This has made the lives of Kenyans to be tough at this times when everything is costly.
Most of the Matatu and bus owners hiked the transport cost and this have ended in many Kenyans to suffer more when in need of travelling from one place to another.
The committee organized by honourable Gladys Wanga are also struggling to decide whether to review fuel prices.
A common ‘mwananchi’ prayer is for the Government to hear their cry and reduce the fuel prices. Its a time for the government to look for a good way of getting its tax and let the fuel prices be affordable to all Kenyans.
