HP has refreshed its Omen lineup for the latest 2020 mobile processors. The HP Omen 15 will be available with AMD and Intel CPUs. There will be some key differences between the two systems, including their colors.
HP Omen 15 2020 design
HP tweaked the design of the Omen 2020 version giving it a different look from earlier versions. According to HP, the new Omen is meant to not only be a gaming notebook but also for working. Thus, the design has lost all the gaming aesthetics to bring forth a slimmer and more compact design. The notebook is thinner than the predecessor, now at 22.5 mm tall. However, the system is now at 2.47kg.
The intel version will ship in black color while the AMD version in silver. The keyboard is backlit so you won’t struggle to find the keys in the dark.
Specs-wise, the new laptop offers graphics up to GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q and Core i7-10750H processors. If you chose AMD system, then you can select up to Ryzen 9 4800H processors and GeForce RTX 2060.
HP Omen 15 Display
The Omen 15 2020 has a 15.6-inch display featuring has a 180-degree hinge. AMD systems will offer up to 1920×1080 IPS display with a 60 or 144 Hz refresh rate. Intel systems will also be offered with 1080p 300Hz and 2160p OLED 60 Hz versions.
Memory and Storage
The Omen laptop ships with 32 gigs of DDR4 RAM. For your storage, a terabyte of PCLe SSD is responsible. In addition to that, you get dual PCLe supporting RAID 0 technology.
Both AMD and Intel systems will have the same starting price of 999 USD. On the other hand, ComputerBase reports that AMD “Renoir” Omen 15 will have a starting price of 999 USD (Ryzen 5 4600H) whereas the Core i5-10300H model will cost at least 1099 USD.
