Realme Smart TV to go on sale on June 2

Realme entered the Indian market in May 2018 as a relative unknown. It then marketed as a sub-brand of its much more established parent Oppo. In two short years, the company has separated its brand identity from Oppo. It has established itself as a key player in the Indian smartphone market thanks to good products and competitive pricing. The company is now looking elsewhere for growth, including the popular and rapidly expanding smart television segment.

After months of chatter and rumors, the company’s first smart televisions are finally here. Priced at Ksh 19,000 onward, the Realme Smart TV series takes on the entry level smart television segment with models at two of the most popular sizes for flat-panel TVs in India – 32 inches and 43 inches. The Smart TV is available in two sizes – 32-inch model priced at Ksh 19,000 and 43-inch variant priced at Ksh 32,000. The sale will start at 12 noon, the company said in a statement. The Smart TV comes with one-year warranty, along with an additional one-year warranty on its panel.

The Realme Smart TV runs on Android 9.0. It also comes with Google Assistant to control the TV with one’s voice to customize the experience. The pre-installed apps are Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube.

It is the first TV in its price segment to be powered by a high-performance MediaTek 64-bit quad-core processor. The RAM of the Realme Smart TV is clocked at 2133MHz, which is faster than normal 1600MHz RAM used in other TVs. The TV also comes with Dolby Audio certificated 24W Quad Stereo speakers. The speakers comprising two sets of speakers that are located at the bottom.
