Director and two managers at Mac’s Pharmaceutical arrested by DCI

The Director & two managers at Mac’s Pharmaceuticals Ltd were today arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation-DCI Kenya. Parklands Detectives

The three were arrested following violation of an order issued by the Pharmacy & Poisons Board barring the company from production of drugs for a period of 12 months effective March 13, 2020.

Statement from DCI : Acting on intelligence, the officers raided the premises situated off Shimo La Tewa Road in Nairobi, where in contempt of the Pharmacy & Poisons Board and the Public Order on state curfew, normal production has been going on overnight from 6pm to 5am when employees are released.

The detectives found 150 Boxes each containing 5,000 Cofrid tablets & 117 tins each with 1,000 Fenamine tablets were impounded.
Khuram Chaudri (Director), Nadeem Janjua & Kumar Opendra being Personnel & Production Managers were respectively placed in custody and to be charged accordingly.

The 19 employees found at the site during the wee hours operation to be charged for breaching the state curfew directives.
